an e-piffle

Some important things I care to share:

1. The lobby of my building (the Chrylser Building) smells like chicken soup surprisingly often.

2. I helped a friend paint her apartment this weekend and have decided that a) my mother was a banana and b) I should wear shinguards when I paint.

3. From the department of This Is Old But I Forgot To Write About It When It Was Relevant: did you know Trampoline is an Olympic sport? It just seems like a good way to, I don't know, break your neck, like our mothers all told us we would when we were kids. (Except my mother. She's a banana.) (Just kidding, mom.)

4. Is it bad when you put new coffee in your coffee cup and, say, some old milk skin rises up to the top of the cup? Does that mean you should wash your cup more often? Probably not.

5. I went running this morning before work, and, while I know that's a fairly newsworthy event (as it happens so infrequently), I didn't think it was quite important enough to merit the news chopper that dogged me the whole time. (But then again, yahoo's lead story all morning has been the kitty drinking out of a glass of water, so who am I to judge?)

6. Speaking of running this morning, the whole neighborhood smelled of cloves as I ran. So much so that I was wondering if that saturation of spice in my lungs was actually healthy.

7. Have you seen the creepy, CREEPY story of the dead guy standing through his own wake? I have but one thing to say: "ew."

8. Fernando and I, in an effort to be more environmental, have decided to share one trash can, and have placed it (most of the time) equidistantly between us. This means, of course, that I'm spending a lot more time picking up my trash from the floor where I've missed throwing it into the garbage can.

9. Spilling coffee on your keyboard, while not a good idea, may no longer actually destroy it, as witnessed by my stunning show of grace yesterday morning. Spilling coffee on your dress, however, is another story all together.

10. You know what sucks? Biting the underside of your tongue. I did that yesterday -- almost bursting into tears in a public plaza -- and still, today, it hurts. In fact, it hurts so much that my jaw aches. Perhaps I should have called in sick today...
