You know I've had this thing for Castro for a long time now. And to read today that he's stepping down, well, honestly, I'm baffled.
The man is fine! I see him weekly at the gym!
"My wishes have always been to discharge my duties to my last breath," Castro wrote in a letter published Tuesday in the online edition of the Communist Party daily Granma. But "it would be a betrayal to my conscience to accept a responsibility requiring more mobility and dedication than I am physically able to offer."
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Castro, I know what you're physically able to offer -- 3.5 mph on a 2.0 incline. Quit your whining and get back to leading the last notable communist holdout within howevermany miles of our borders.
